Hahaha, all of ours are in covered enclosures and we can hear a pair of crows up in the big salt cedar lamenting their inability to access eggs.

Zero eggs out of 4 chickens! But they are only 12 weeks old! LOL! We have a while before we'll get eggs but the anticipation sure is eggciting

Count today is so far 2/6.... Weather is miserable

Thankfully we only see hawks from the drive home by Mayfield lake not down by us
I do believe in a covered run anyways... the old woulda, shoulda, coulda
sitting at 4/5 barred hens little pullets took the day off but I pulled the roost
table to lay a coat of paint on it was anticipating a bit of turmoil among the
troops

Final count today is 5/6 hens.... I was very surprised when I saw 5 eggs in the coop. That's the most my girls have ever gave me lol.... Looks like the mixed grain I purchased is doing a great job. Pravo girls.

17 eggs today. 2nd broody hen finally gave up & is off the nest. The 1 egg that looked dark was ROTTEN! when I cracked it to see what was going on ( it was also stone cold when I got home from my parents house today). Fortunately, I cracked it outside of the coop! I was going to go get that broody some chicks on Friday morning, but I guess I won't now.
