Mine hatched in late February 2014 and started laying in October 2014 - eight months almost to the day. How old are yours?

Mine hatched in early April — looks like I have at least a month to go before we see an egg, perhaps after New Year's Day. Thanks for the perspective.
I supplement light in the coop to provide 13 hours a day, so I hope that will make a difference.

My buffs lay almost every day (unless they are molting or broody). I don't supplement light, but only because I have no reasonable way to get electricity to my run/coop.
