How to keep ‘em off the front porch

Mine stayed away from the back porch for the most part till a hawk got one of the girls. Now they stay at the back porch and even want to come in the house with me.

Seams as that part of the yard is in shadow, blocks most of the wind and is close to the big people rooster that protects them and feeds them they prefer it over potentially hawk ridden parts of the yard. I have a gate to close but I felt bad about locking them way from the safety they sot. They got closed out today, will see how that goes or if they fly over the six foot fence.

We keep horse hay ( bales of Bermuda, Timothy and 100lb bales of alfalfa on the front porch, they generally leave the hay alone, but as you can see...nor the rest
