How to tell if broody????????

Ok so I posted an earlier thread about how to get a hen broody. Thanks to you guys I think one if broody!!!!! But I am not sure she is covering all the golfballs her little body can and every time she sees me or a chicken she growls I am not sure if she if laying an egg or if she is broody!

You'll know if she is broody because she will be kind of flattened out on her nest and she will growl, hiss, bleep, or usually make a strange sound that you haven't heard before by her. I have four broody hens right now and I've had a few in the past who have raised chicks for me. Depending on her temperament you can check under her for eggs. Some hens will peck at you, others will be very annoyed. My girls are use to it by now and put up with me. I only check for eggs because my laying hens will sneak into the nest box with the broody hens and lay their eggs. I will soon be getting chicks for the broody girls I'm just waiting on my husband to finish my small broody coop.
