I needed a heated cookie tin: cheap and for a 5 gal font. I showed my husband the posts and he improved the design. Now, I have a heated dog bowl I love but needed one for the 5 gal font. Just in time for the polar plunge!
By using a X- large single layer cookie tin, and a less then $6.00 lamp from Wal-Mart..My DH took the metal goose neck lamp apart, arranged the goose neck into the tin, cut down the metal shade. using a 40W chandler bulb, he sealed he outside hole, ran the plastic stopper up the cord( not pictured), and caulked it as well. He was not happy just leaving the lamp base just inside the hole and thought the cut down metal shade would help disperse the heat. He creased the lid just a touch to keep moisture out. works wonderful. I included a shot of the left over part of the shade to the side
