Some roosters are just jerks!
I had an old english game rooster that was never aggresive to anyone. His favorite hen went broody and I caught him several times huddled up with her in the nest box. Just chilling. I'm sure he missed her and was keeping her company.
Dont keep a bad acting rooster please. Your hens deserve better and it's also distressing you.
You may have to go through a dozen or so before you get one with a good disposition, and once you have him. Treasure him as they are few and far between.

I guess we just alternate cages and freedom for a while. I wish the weather would improve!
