That's what I was hoping but was just worried! Appreciate the "confirmation"!! Thanks! She's just has a bigger comb and waddles and that could mean she is getting closer to laying.
I have trouble with the frizzles, but I promise you looking at my 8 wk or so mile fleur Cochin bantams I thought I had 5+ cockerels....turns out only 3 now(going by saddle feathers/hackles), the hens have had reddish crests for like 6 wks and they are not laying yet(but def full grown now, sorry can't remember age, would have to look it up, probably 16 or so wks now. I would go by wattle color round 3-4 wks....that method has yet to fail me.Despite the fact this 7 week old frizzle has a redder comb and the start of waddles, it acts like a female. Do we still think it's a cockerel? I have googled images of white frizzled bantam hens and they do have really red combs and waddles.
Agreed1,2 look male the other im leaning twords pullet
Hi! I would like your oppinion on two of my chickens. The tan chicken is Lyric. Lyric is approximately 12- 14 weeks old. I'm not sure of the breed. I've been told its a possible EE mix and I've had a lot of people tell me it looks like a rooster. The white chicken is Duchess. It's a 10 week old delaware. I'm a little anxious about my delaware because its my favorite. I really hope its a female because I cant keep roosters where I live. What do you think hen or roo?
