I never knew they can jump so high

This morning, one of the pullets had mysteriously escaped. We chased her around the neighbor's yard for a few minutes until we got her close to the fence.
She finally understood what we were trying to do so she jumped over it while flapping!
What's crazy about this is she is a fat little bird and the fence is easily 6 feet tall.
Now she needs to get her wings trimmed soon, otherwise this might happen again.

Just trim one wing to start with. This often works better than trimming both because it keeps them off balance.

Oh, mine know where home is all right! The prospect of some secret food that doesn’t seem to be on my 2 acre property lures them into the neighbor’s yard…and into the other neighbor’s yard…and halfway down the street ! And yes they come back dutifully at bedtime!

Lol. They just have to follow that grasshopper ... or that cricket ... don't they? I may be wrong, but I just don't see chickens being all that territorial. The world is their smorgasbord.

Update: She jumped out again a few hours ago and I saw her trying to get in through the window, but it was closed. I don't think they can see glass or clear plastic!
Now she really needs a wing trimmed
