Hi ! My silkie has been broody for about 2 weeks. She is a great mother and has hatched out chicks and adopted chicke in the past. I bought baby chicks today finally so I can pop them under her at night. I brought the chicks up to get some sun and to be on the grass. My silkie did not see them but she may have heard them. She has since been outside the coop for about 2 hours. Did I accidentally break her brood? How can I reverse this? Should i try place her back on the nesting box and pop them under her now? When its daytime.
P.s i put her back on the nesting box and she just hppped off.

Usually they are broody for 3 or more weeks so that's odd suddenly you get chicks and she's done.

You can't force a hen to be broody but could try a few things like when you know she's close by, put the chicks in the nest box and see what she does. You could also try putting some fake eggs or golf balls in the nest and see if that gets her back in.

I wish you luck!
