So batch of chicks (end of February), we got two black sex links from Wilco. This bird is much bigger, has huge legs, huge comb, and the tail feathers are starting to 'droop'...

Please say it isn't so... This chicken is so sweet and isn't making any noise yet. I told him if he was quiet we wouldn't have to eat him.

Hope the pics show what you guys need to see. Thanks in advance for your help.

Bummer. He's such a nice bird. Kids made a poster for a free Roo to put up at the local Wilco. DH says I should offer one of our laying hens with him. He says people might take a hen and rooster over just a rooster. But my older hens are only 3 and are still laying strong. Thanks so much for the confirmation. I appreciate these forums.

Hello, So back in May I asked you guys if my chick was a roo, and you were all right! I thought I'd share an updated picture of him since he's filling out so nicely. We re-homed him to a young adult friend who was just re-starting chickens of her own. She decided to keep this roo instead of eating him and says he extremely friendly and gentle. He lets the girls eat their fill first and he's very attentive to his flock. My children are thrilled to have an opportunity to see "Smokey" every once in a while.

He was a purchase from Wilco in the black sex links tub...Wrong! haha
