Here's an Ameraucana cockerel I've been keeping my eye on. He may replace his daddy someday. Or at least join him in one of the breeding pens.

My RIR's, White Rocks, Cuckoo Marans and Buckeyes are hard to get pictures of. They all have that "in your face" personality. Here's one of my SC RIR's that I was lucky enough to get a decent shot of.

A couple of BO hens that I'm carrying over to next year's breeding season. I'm thinking about showing the one on the right if she looks good enough by show time.

Greg, that's the reason I'm having to put more buildings up. I have more breeds than breeding pens for Spring. I'm always expanding though!

Here's some links to similar coops I'm building. The last one is my favorite.

I have a bantam SS hen. She is a great layer of large sized eggs even for her size. I can only imagine the LF would be great layers! Had a trio but the male and another pullet were not hand raised and frankly mean. This is not typical of the breed but those two had to move on

Clay! Long time no see!

Jim is doing SS, not sure how many has right now. We're going to go in on an order from Urch Turnland in the Spring.

How are your birds doing? I'm loving the Wellies I got from you.

Yup, I'm working on SS. Not very successfully though. I got eggs from several sources and only had luck hatching from one source. I'm getting picky on where I get them from now since I'm trying to breed towards the standard, but I guess I can't be too picky since I only have a 12 week old pullet (I hope). I have 7 that hatched from a friend that has hatchery stock, but they look a lot better than most hatchery stock. I'm also getting eggs from another friend that bought out somebody's SQ flock. I'm looking at getting some day olds from Tony Albritton this Spring, but only if I can find somebody to go in on an order with me. I'd like to get some SLW and SS from him. I need too check with Gary Overton to see if he sells chicks. He had an add in the Poultry Press that he will be delivering SS to Crossroads. I'm not going plus I don't have the extra cash right now for any adults, though I'd sure like some.
