I would choose Red Shouldered Yokohamas & Salmon Faverolles. Wait, I do have the 2 breeds I want!

Two breeds - tough decision!
Standard - Speckled Sussex and Buff Orpington.
Bantam - Spangled Cornish and White Modern.

I really cannot make up my mind now, since I don't have any experience with these breeds - but, they'd have to be broody /colorful.

English Orps (and Lavender)
Silkies
Light (and Coronation) Sussex
Silver Laced Wyandottes

BCMarans and Ameraucanas (or even EE) = just for the variety in egg color.

Heritage Rhode Island Reds (Rose Comb and Single comb) 1 breed 2 varieties

The other breed would have to be American Game.

hmm.. I would have to pick Light Brahma and RIR. They are both excellent layers and sweethearts!

I agree with the EE's...I love mine too...good layers of pretty eggs and mine are really smart....but I guess that's not a true breed.
