So, I'm in my 3rd week of hatching my 3rd set of white Pekin eggs, I just candled and had a quitter. For some reason I inspect the embryo of my quitters so close to hatching. Anyway, this embryo was snowball WHITE. I've only had a very few Pekin duck quitters, and all have been yellow. what's up with this white one?? The lady I bought the eggs from also has tufted Roman and embden geese. These Pekin eggs are larger than the ones I've hatched before but not near as big as her goose eggs I bought. Is it possible that this embryo was a cross of goose and duck?? Or is there an embryo stage for Pekins when they are white instead of yellow? Also it looks to have a crest, soft puffy top knot. Tufted Roman trait? Any info on this puzzler is appreciated!!
