Impacted crop

Sorry you have had so much trouble with your Orps crops. So far I have only seen it in one of my Orps. Lots of things are genetic and crops are no different. I keep the crop bra handy all the time as once they get too stretched out and go pendulous they can quit on the bird. I believe it was a feed issue with my hen and switched her over to FF and or plain ground grains. She never had an issue after the switched and went 1 1/2 years crop problem free after this. Where as before it was a monthly event with her and the slow and sour crop.

I have only seen it in my blues, not my buffs, so it may be more prevalent in the blue/black/splash lines.

In the spoiler are pictures of a deceased, plucked peachick with a red tube. Do not look if you find photos of deceased animals disturbing. The tube in these pictures is a size 30 french.

In these next two pictures you can see the end of the tube

Kathy, so the tube is inserted to the left or right of that hole at the back of the tongue?

I insert the tube on their left, then diagonally across to their right side and down it goes. It can also be inserted on their right, but I have found it's easier to go from left to right.

Ok..so the hole is actually behind so when you go in on the left and then go diagonally toward the right it is there behind the trachea hole?
