Long time hatcher, first time hatching shipped eggs! I haven't hatched in two years though so I am a bit rusty. I have been reading over my hatching journals to refresh my memory.
Anyway, I have my shipped eggs sitting in an egg carton big side up right now. My incubator has been running for two days now. About 100 degrees with 40% humidity. (Dry hatch/still air).
Any time I ever hatched eggs (I don't use an egg turner) I just lay them on their side in the bator and turn them three times a day by hand. It works well for me. As I have been reading a lot of forums and threads on here I have been getting second thoughts on how I do it. Is it smarter to hatch them upright ( like sitting in a carton) considering they're shipped and all? Or would there be no problem doing it my usual way. I just worry because we all want the air cell to stay where it needs to be and if I lay it on its side maybe it would detach again? I don't know. I need your help!
