They were probably foraging in the bushes. They absolutely love getting into all the small nooks and crannies. Here is my temporary nursery. I don't trust some of the other hens with the babies just yet, although their foster mum desperately wants to have her freedom again.

Hi everyone. I live in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire where we have rolling green hills around us. We are 40 miles north of London, which takes an hour to get to by train. I've been reading the forum for ages and have found some really useful information on it. I've got 5 hens in my garden and 4 chicks hatched a week ago. It was my first chicks so I've been really excited about them.
