Natural maple, or Agave nectar
Froze the fruit, put them in a food processor add some milk, maple. Zzzt, zzzt

Thanks for the information last weekend about the root killer for trees. I managed to get the roots out of the concrete piping and now I'm leaving the joint exposed so roots won't readily go back and I can pull apart if they do.
