Thanks, Sally -- I've read over that a few times, as well as the other links in that section of the first/second post (actually, I had read and pinned most of the posts linked there a few weeks ago when I was researching the incubation process). I haven't gone in to help yet because I can still see breathing -- I am waiting but not sure what to look for as the "clue" that it is time to assist. Do I go by hours passed or tan membrane? I guess my biggest concern revolves around the fact that the external pip, etc., was exposed to a pile of gunk for I don't know how long. Wasn't sure if that would mean bacteria, etc. I hate being a newbie and not knowing how to interpret things (despite the number of hours I have spent reading and reading and reading).
