Also, im not going to do anything without getting the go ahead from you guys but im running it at 30 humidity. Can i raise it to 60? I dont want to harm the chicks by opening the bator. Is it safe to do?
For hatching it really should be higher like 60% to keep the membranes moist and soft.

The more you open the bator the more humidity will be lost. However if you need to open the bator to add water it is best done earlier than later. So if you are going to open it at some time, now is probably the best time before anything has externally pipped.
If you have some plastic tubing like the air tubing used for fish tanks maybe you can thread that through a ventilation hole, so that you can top up the water in the bator without opening the top.
