Incubator Tempature Keeps Going Up and Down [Help]

Breathe darling...don't stress yourself. Humidity will fluctuate based on humidity in room and surface area of water, which is what you are trying to decrease using rocks. If you are in a humid climate you may not need any water til lockdown. If you run the A/C in your home it drops humidity and you may need to add water. Humidity doesn't rise and fall as quickly as temps do so it takes a lil more time to stabilize. If your incubator has several air holes you can also use these to help release or hold humidity, but keep in mind if you cover or uncover air holes to do this it will change your temp too so you must watch for that. I find it easier to control humidity with a sponge rather than well of water, but that's just me and the climate in my home. On cool days when my AC isn't on I don't need any water added in bator, but if it's hot and I turn AC on it makes air drier in house so I have to wet sponge and put in bator. Same goes for running a furnace, especially a gas one.
