Installing fan... Please advise

I got a dual layer incubator off of cl but the fan for thw bottom level wasn't installed. I've read that the air needs to blow upwards but I didn't know if that still applied since there would be eggs right above the fan and if it blows down it would be onto the water. The heat source is at the top of that changes things. Please advise. I and my future feather butts thank you for your help!!!
