Right, well, Derperella is pretty famous on this site. I tell my DH about Derp's adventures, ie. squealing with excitement when Derp laid her first egg (on another chicken, of course). So, the DH I THOUGHT knew about Derp.

Tonight I was showing him a picture of Derp and saying how much I'd like a chicken like her. DH said, 'Sure, but where can you buy Derpingtons'??? I said, 'What? Derpingtons???" and he said, "yeah, that's the breed isn't it?'

Hmmmm.....now we have to figure out how to make Derpingtons.

If we cross Derperella with one of my "special" Orpingtons (we can use Stoopid or Stupid), we should be able to get some extra derpy Derpingtons.

One time i was explaning to my mom that some of our chickens were Speckled Sussex. My brother says. "Special Sausage? That's a weird chicken name. "

Hahaha now I get it! I've noticed my silkies are pretty derpy.... Sometimes their coos even sound like "merp" which around here, "merp" is what you'd say after you just did something stupid. i.e. stoopid, derpy
It fits! My next silkie will be named Merp
