Is the Barred Rock a cockerel?

The chicks are 5 weeks old now, and I am wondering if you can tell if this chick is a cockerel. I know at this age it’s still not definitive. The other barred rock in the picture of the two has a smaller comb. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Looks like a pullet to me. Purebred barred rock males should be double barred which typically makes them noticeably lighter than the pullets.

They look exactly like my 5 week old barred rocks. I sure hope not I’m also a newbie.

Too funny! I keep wondering if we are going to end up with any roosters. Do any of yours have a more assertive personality? My Easter Egger thinks she’s a lap chicken. It’s the cutest. The one Barred rock wants to jump on me and peck hands.
