I noticed one of my RIR hens looked funny this morning. Her underside was sagging between her legs. The other chickens (another RIR, Blue andalsuian, and a MJ Rooster) were guarding her and not letting me get to her. I did a quick search here on the forums and didn't find anything about sagging bellies. I went back out about 1/2 hour later and saw that she was less swollen. I caught her noticed that her vent looked a bit stressed. I have attached pictures. I am wondering what others think about the vent. I am not sure how bad this is.

Also, about a month ago I did find a soft egg in the coop. I never figured out who it belonged to, but I suspect it may be this hen and she may be having problems with her oviduct.

I'm sorry no one has responded to your post as of yet. I've never seen a prolapsed vent and hope you get responses from some others with experience.
