Anybody have any thoughts on what this is on this hen’s face? I’m guessing a really bad case of fowl pox??? She has never been vaccinated for pox, but she has been exposed before. I don’t remember if she got pox sores when she was exposed but I do know for a fact that she was in the flock when some of my hens had pox several years ago. She is a six-year-old Silver Leghorn that we’ve had since she was a couple of days old. Because of the size and location of the sores, she cannot see in front of her face so she can’t see where to actually peck to eat very well but I’m making sure she gets enough to eat and drink. She is acting fine, no depression, no loss of appetite. She just looks terrible! Thanks for any thoughts on what you think these sores are.
