(I don't really understand in what context he's saying that. Is he saying "Pardon me?" as in he's slightly offended or doesn't understand, or is he saying "Pardon me." as in he needs to go?)"Pardon me"

Vivian nodded, sympathy radiating from her eyes. She asked kindly, "Would you care for more food or drink sir?".Sebastian gritted his teeth as Vivian helped him with his arm. When she'd finished, he had a glazing of tears in his eyes from the unavoidable pain. "Forgive my weakness. I know it must hurt to get better. " He said with quiet dignity.
