Ivermectin for DOGS for Heartworms?

Quote:
on paper it would be

1.15 CCs for the 115lbs

1.60 CCs for the 160lbs
an
.90 CCs for the 90lbs

If you are treating monthly for intestinal worms/mange/mites an heart-worm prevention an your dog is not a dog with a weakness to Ivermectin that is.

I have never treated a dog for just heart-worm prevention nor have I ever treated a dog that big so thats why I say "on paper"

My dogs are 15 pound pugs an all get .15 CCs a month

I never had a problem using the horse dewormer on my retriever, but it's harder to get the right amount for dogs out of those tubes without going overboard or underdoing it. So the other would be better because it is more measureable.

My White German Shepherd gets it too and never had a problem, as well as all my GP's.

So basically if your vet doesn't give your dog Heart guard but makes you use...Interceptor, I think it's called, then you wouldn't want to use Ivermectian.

The amount of Ivomec in a Hearguard pill is only 250 MICROgrams.

1/10th ML of 1% injectible Ivomec has 1 MILIgram, or 4 times as much

This sounds right. I know 1/10th of a cc of Ivermec for every 10 pounds of dog is the mange/mites/intestinal worms dose an way more than the Heartguard dose.

I use that does on everything but I have pugs.

The dose for demodex is much, much higher than that.

The one-tenth cc is for HW prevention, not mites.
