Jade pics please!

When I visited a peafowl breeder I took pictures of his birds, which I have not yet posted. He has recently acquired a beautiful Jade peacock. I took some good, clear pictures of him, so when I will post them I will post those Jade pictures here. He definitely shows signs of spalding. I agree with q8peafowl. Dany12 read this: http://leggspeafowl.com/jade.htm

Peafowl Varieties:
number 85 94 = Pavo cristatus.
and number 196
205 = Spalding !

Okay but this (There is no history of the parentage of these three birds. There appears to be some Spalding in them, as the rest of the gentleman’s birds did.) suggests all must have spalding. It have have been bred out to make it more jade or bred with spaldings to make high percentage spalding jades. That is my take.

I think even if jade peafowls lost most of their green blood by breeding them with india blue peafowls they will still be spaldings even if they just have 1% green blood! Once a spalding always a spalding!

1% of green blood ... and the bird is a spalding that's theory but in fact they are cristatus 100% .
It's something like a ' GREEN blood memory ' like the WATER memory theory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_memory

The future will show what looks like the Spalding JADE. I hope very different birds!

Dany12, a spalding is a hybrid, no matter what you do its always going to be hybrid. Now would be want to say oh well it only has 1% _____ in it so it is just about pure and good to be released back into the wild - the answer is no. I care about conservation and appreciate the fact that people are working with limited pure birds trying to save them.

So all the JADE are spalding ...one with only an inkling souvenir of green blood and the other one a real hybrid !

All birds that come into the hands of the human are suspicious .... purity is questionable. only the birds in nature are susceptible to be pure.
In many countries ... they don't care about wild live ... it's only a Westerners problem!

Are these killed for food or sport?
