What do you do with guinea's once they're big enough to go outside? Are you supposed to keep them housed, or do you just turn them loose?

Mine are in the coop with the chickens. Some people just let them be outside but usually they are in warmer climates and often lose some to predators. I live where temps get below 0 in winter so they get a nice coop.
