A black sex link has barred rock genetics, but as shown by this bird, have characteristics from the other parentage as well. A pure barred rock cock would not have the creamy patchy areas or narrow barring of this bird (bsl males have only one copy of the barring gene (inherited from the mother), where a barred rock would have two copies (one from mother and one from father).
