Keeping Chicks Warm on the Ride Home?

My chicks will have a half hour car ride home...do I just blast the heat and hope they stay warm enough?

Blast the heat, yeah.

But if it's just an hour and a half, and it's, what, 60-70 degrees + heat, they should be fine.

Get some hand warmer packs or fill a thermos with boiling water and transfer that to a metal water bottle (wrapped in a towel) at pick up.

I tried the thermos method for my second batch of chicks, it didn't really work all that well. It was a 65-ish degree day and the chicks were fine.

I was thinking about putting a hot pack or something in there like that. I'll just blast the heat then. Can't WAIT!

Your chicks will be fine at whatever temp you are comfortable. It's only half an hour! Baby chicks get out from under momma for longer than that, even at just a day old.
