I had never heard of Dorkings, My wife says she married one but I think she's only joking (I think).
Going to have to add a couple of dorks to next years list of chicks.

Dorking hens have a seriously stalky build. My S/G Dorking roo is just over 12 lbs. Very calm and friendly birds. Great winter layers for me.

Your Dorking isn't fat blondie. That is how they are supposed to be structured.

They are great broodies also.

I have a silver grey Dorking name Pidge. She looked like a pigeon when she was younger. She is one on the prettiest, most friendly girls I have. I got her from Murray in my special assortment.

What's interesting is I also have a silver grey Phoenix, and they look so much a like. The coloring is the same, but the Phoenix has grey legs and skinny and the Dorking has the extra toe, is low to the ground and fat!
