Laying again?

How soon after a chick has hatched is it before mother hen starts laying again?

It really varies, but *generally* a hen won't return to production until she has "weaned" her chicks - the broody state is not just the hatching process, but also the mothering time.

Our chick is now 7weeks old and mother hen doesn't seem 2 bother with it at all. In fact the chick spends most of the time with the rooster even sits under the ro. Mother hen seems 2 be spending most of her time in the coop now so didn't know if she's starting 2 lay again

She is indeed laying I've checked on her today ensuring she is well =)
