The rooster is supposedly a barred rock-aracuana mix 6 months old. So says the people we got him from. He does look like barred rock with some splashes of color mixed in, the sun is starting to go down so he's kind of in the shade

She's just seems so small to me lol we were expecting a lot bigger of a chicken but don't mind her being little

He doesn't have any Araucana in him at all. They have pea combs, and it's a dominant comb type. Black sexlinks are usually a cross between a Barred Rock hen and a Rhode Island Red rooster. The male chicks will feather in with the dark barring of a female barred Rock, but will have gold feathering mixed in. Their 'hybrid vigor' results in a larger male than either parent breed.

Ok sounds good, when they said aracuana we didn't really think that sounded right (especially since we didn't see any aracuana chickens) but we saved him from being eaten and he is happy, even though he still gets checked by the female turkey sometimes
