Hi!
I have my golden cuckoo Marans in a pen by themselves because I have been hatching their eggs. One of the eggs hatched out a white chick! Has this happened to anyone else? All the other chicks are the right color and I got them from Meyers hatchary.

I know this is an old thread (thank you so much for it tho!) Help with sexing ! I ordered (8) day old chicks from Meyer Hatchery of mixed breeds, all supposed to be a pullets, this one a golden cuckoo maran. She is already top of the pecking order at 4 wks old. She’s the only one with a comb developing at the rate it is. Beautiful feathering on the legs, will not back down to anyone, although very sweet and friendly with me. Is she a roo?

Any chick pictures of GCM? I received 3 chicks that look similar (speckled sussex, golden laced wyandotte, and GCM) and I'm trying to determine which is the GCM that I am supposed to be raising for my Mom. Now, I could just wait a few weeks, but my child has become attached to one of these and I am a bit anxious to know that it is NOT a GCM. lol It's hard to get a good picture of these babies under that red light in the brooder. I will post what I have.

I will. I have 5 chicks that fit that description. I am supposed to have 3 Barred Rocks and 1 Cuckoo Maran, as well as the GCM.
Just FYI so you have an idea what is supposed to be black and white. We were sent 1 "bonus chick" that is supposed to be of a breed that I ordered.
I don't have good photos yet. I will post later this afternoon. Thanks for helping!

Barred rock chicks and the cuckoo Marans look a same colour wise the only difference is barred rock have a yellow clean legs . The golden cuckoo plus tge silver cuckoo Marans should have pinkish feathered kegs .
