List of really docile, friendly chicken breeds

Yep next year dh is going to build me a bigger coop

so just trying to figure out what I'd like. Needs to be friendly, really docile. So help me make a list- Oh and needs to be cold hardy as I live in cold cold New england!

Hey there,

I would have to say at the top of the list has to be Cochins and Orpingtons.
The friendliest birds I ever had were bantam cochins 1st, standard cochins 2nd... tied with Buff Orpingtons.

I have Cochins and silkies now, my cochins are friendly but timid as well. Not like my silkies who love to be held, and petted and just more people chickens...

My vote is Orpingtons and Wyandottes.

I had a cochin bantam.....I miss her! really friendly. But for yard birds that lay during the winter.......Faverolles are pretty nice. The roo is wonderful!

How about Australorps and Faverolles? Are these breeds pretty reliably docile?
