I found this article in the Portland Press Herald (Maine) this morning. Thought it might be of general interest to those curious about local regulations. In short: Maine is considering legislation which would regulate how poultry is slaughtered and processed at small-scale farms.

That is to funny in the last week I have spoken with just about everybody in that artical on this subject.I wanna sell my birds!!!!! I trust my practices more than those of "Big Chicken".I was a trucker for some time and had the unfortunate experiance of picking up at many processing facilities.Needless to say when I got off of the road I went and got chickens.:)Never again will I buy my meat products from the supermarket.I know where my food comes from.

Got forbid the little guy cut in on big business. If the government had their way (and it looks like it's coming soon) everyone will work for and buy from the big guys.
