We are planning on building another larger coop in a corner of our yard behind our shop that is more enclosed. Do you think it will have enough breeze in Southern Louisiana? It will have plenty of shade and enough room for the chickens to stay away from each other when warm. It will have the added protection during hurricanes and big rain storms being where we plan to put it. Our other coop is mobile, so we had moved it during storms to be more protected and drier. The wooden fence is on the NW side and the open area by the compost is on the SE side. Enough sun and breeze?

husband has started moving his steel stash and we plan to use bricks as part of the base of coop.
compost will be moved to another spot. Chicks will love that spot - lots of bugs and worms!!

We went ahead and started building there. Excited about the space!
Added a brick path and moved the compost to behind the coop by the wood fence. Just have to build the inside enclosed portion of the sleeping-roosting/ nest box area of the coop.
