Lonely quail!

1 quail hatched out of my first batch ever. I feel so bad for it. I’ve been searching locally for hopefully 1 more around its age. We hold it as much as we can but it cries a lot. Right now we have a stuffed animal in the brooder and I’ll be getting a mirror today. Another batch of eggs are on the way but will be another 2-3 weeks until they hatch. By that time will the lonely one be to old to put with babies? Anyone live near Toledo Ohio with an extra baby?

When the new chicks hatch, I wouldn't put your lonely one in with them until they're close in size. That might not be until the youngest are 5-6 weeks old.

I would put them in pens next to each other, though, so the lone chick can see and hear the younger chicks. That will help.
