Hi!
This is our first flock and I am so excited to be getting chickens! We are looking for good egg layers and friendly birds (I have two kids, aged 8 and 11 who will be helping). I'd love to have a mixed flock so I'm looking for advice as I want them to get along. Also to consider, we live in Canada (Southern Ontario). We have an insulated coop, but I want to get hardy birds. The co-op has these birds available:
White Leghorn, ISA Brown, Rhode Island Red, Black Sex Link and Plymouth Barred Rock.

I think I've narrowed it down to the Barred Rock and ISA Brown and maybe Black Sex Link. I'd like to get two of each. Any thoughts on my choices??

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

The three breeds you have chosen should work out fine. All three should be good layers and in general should be friendly, but every chicken has it's own personality and you could get a flighty one.If your getting them as chicks just spoil them and you'll be fine.
