Mo.
I have a hen that has gone broody and I would like 3-6 eggs. I have never let a hen hatch an egg and would like to add this to my learning
experience so if anyone would like to sell me a few I would be appreciated. My hens are barnyard hatchery breeds. Thank you.

If you have a specific breed in mind, the following link has all the NPIP breeders in MO. There are lots around Springfield and many may be willing to sell you a handful of eggs.
where do I find the link? I do not know what NPIP stands for. Thank you for taking your time to answer my above questions

Barnevelder,
Black Breasted Red Phoenix,
Silver Brakel ( I think), a very nice Gentleman in Nixa sold them to me and I just asked for a mix that does well free-ranging.

You'll have some eye candy.
You may need some special housing for the phoenix.
There used to be someone in your region who raised one of the best lines of Barnevelders who retired and sold her whole operation to someone in Oklahoma. It would be fortunate if you could get some from that line.
That MO poultry yearbook is a great asset. I've been in there for a few years.
Here are some pictures for you.

That surely would be wonderful. I had a Banevelder bantam and she was a sweetheart the only problem she gave was that she stayed broody the 3 wonderful years we had with her, I don't think I got more than a couple of dozen eggs, but she was there for the entertainment.

I really do hope housing will not be a problem for the phoenix, because I will only keep one rooster. Do I need different housing for a Phoenix hen?
