losing natural oil from feathers

I made the mistake of washing my chicken, and removing its natural oil from its feathers. What can I rub in to remedy the situation ? PLEASE REPLY. Thanks. Nick

I would think the chicken would take care of it itself, using the oil gland at the base of it's tail as it preens
 
Folks wash birds for shows all the time. Same for furred animals--dogs and horses. Washing removes the natural oil from all those animals, but it doesn't harm them in any way. They all make more

. Your chickens should have access to a nice dry area of dirt to dust bathe in, that's all they need for their hygiene. Here's my girls having "spa time".....
