There probably wasn't a chance to save her unless you were right there when she picked up the toxic particle. Within that first twelve hour period, flushing her system, either a molasses flush or a Epsom salt flush, followed by activated charcoal might have helped. If she ingested a petroleum distillate, there wouldn't have been anything to neutralize it. You can't flush petroleum without making it much worse.
