Hope everyone has been well!! I am super excited, 2 of my 3 are now laying!! Today is the 2nd day in a row to get 2 eggs!! YAY! I am just waiting on my Easter Egger to start laying. I think I read somewhere they take longer to mature.

For awhile I was worried because everyone talked about how their chickens loved them and came when called and mine didn't at first...Now they are trying to follow me right in the house! They will also come when called...greedy little things. LOL

Awesome! It's fun when they are that comfortable with you. I have one that will jump into my arms.

And I thought I had a lot. I have 9 broodies right now but no eggs under them. I just have too many chicks already, don't know where I'd put any others.

No other symptoms really besides the lethargy.. she will lay down and while laying she will kind of Bob her head up and down like she is fighting sleep. Other than that nothing..

Did she make it? It's tough to watch them and not know what to do.

She did make it back in with her flock now. I withheld food for 24 hours, then I gave her wet food with vitamins & electrolytes, applesauce and apple cider vinegar. Did that for 3 days and she perked right up.

And HRIR hen and the BCM pullet from Terri hatched four babies each! Three others were hatched but didn't make it for various reasons.

I keep lots of foot baths/mud wallows in the shade, and feed lettuce, cucumbers, and watermelon rinds. I also let them range, because they stay cooler that way. Mine go DEEP in the woods when it's hot.
