Mallards finally resumed laying! Maybe spring is approaching!

I’ve noticed longer days too. It’s been warm here the last couple days but this weekend it’s dropping to the 30s again. Bring on spring!

Spring has sprung in SW WI!! The girls were on winter break since mid Dec. and started up last week. I have even sold my 1st dozen eggs of the year with 2 more dozen spoken for by Fri. We have between 4-6 eggs/day. 1 Pekin, 1 Muscovy, 3 Khaki's, 2 Welsh Harlequins.

I’ve been waiting on my khaki campbell to start laying. I’ve been noticing her hanging out by some bushes EVERY morning, so I run out and check once she leaves and nothing, until this morning, she’s laying now

Moved the egg to the coop cause I don’t want her laying them there. Especially if she’s gonna go broody, which I think she is. She seems to have dug a nest under the bush should I also fill it in to try to get her to quit laying there? She will have ZERO protection if she decides to have her nest there.

Yes block the nest spot.
Give her a secluded spot inside the coop with her egg in it. I just lay a piece of scrap ply wood up against the side of the wall and screw it to the wall so it doesn't fall on the duck makes a good nesting area.
