The eggs are indeed beautiful. Where did you get your marans? They are pretty hard to find.

I got mine from a local farmer, his only 3! I am breeding them (birchen marans) as well as crossing them to get olive eggers. Yes, I had a hard time finding them! Greenfire sells them for $50 for 1 unsexed day old chick...and they're sold out! Thanks!

Wow....50 beans for a 1 day old unsexed chick! and he is sold out!! I guess there is a big demand for those dark brown eggs. Good luck with them.
