My little “accidental” Cochin/Silkie cross from an earlier hatch this month, is 11 days old today! It’s a little sweetie and does not look Silkie at all.View attachment 3037619

Just got home form my trip. Now that it is dark I candled and locked down.

Set 7 W/ Ameraucana and 3 made it to lockdown - these are shipped eggs.

Set 28 Aloha and 17 made it to lockdown.

Hatch day is Monday.

They are hatching a little late and I'm assuming the temp was a degree or two cold. Hatch day is Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon, it is now Saturday morning and we only have one chick and a couple pips. Normally they come much earlier for me.

I've heard hatches on the cold side can cause chicks to have underdeveloped organs. Has anybody had problems with this?

Can't answer your question, but I too have noticed mine hatch a day later than usual after I moved the incubator to a colder room.

7 hatched so far. 6 BCs & 1 RIR. I just moved 5 because the other 2 are pretty fresh out da shell.
