Hello dear BYC friends
I have a question, still pretty new with raising chickens.. we incubated eggs and got 15 chicks the oldest is now 3 weeks and youngest is 1.5 weeks, they’re not exposed to any other flock but I realized I read somewhere they should’ve been vaccinated for marek’s at hatching..which I did NOT do 😬.

Is it too late administer marek’s vaccine for prevention? All seem very healthy and happy and no one was a bully ( yet 😅) but I am not sure if it’s too late to vaccinate them.

Many thanks in advance to you all as always. 💕

Here’s some of em picture of adorable chickies 🐥🐣

The short answer is yes it's too late. The longer answer is some folks still do.. but IF it works it only hides symptoms and does not actually prevent the disease..

ETA: not everyone thinks vaccinating is the best choice or needs to be done.
Hello thank you very much for your help. It kind of make sense to not needing to the vaccine because we now have 7 month old chickens that didn’t have vaccine and seem to be doing fine without.

I’ll leave my chickies alone in their healthy adorable state then 😅
