Just measured my new rooster… he’s 1ft 11inches tall 🫣 I’m hoping he’s gentle 😬 my girls are average sized.

This is Hugh Jackman, my new Salmon Faverolles roo over Cuckoo Maran hen… he’s sweet and an amazing guard but it’s all up to if he’s gentle and if he gets along with my bantam rooster(so far, no- but at least I got the size comparison photos I was trying to get 🥲 he’s back in the brooder/integration pen now. Also don’t worry, their water is clean. It’s just the reflection and supplements adding a yellow tint to it)

EDIT; he weighed in at 9lbs

Aww. I love big snuggly roosters. I hope he's super gentle for ya!

@Farmgirl283420 your boy reminds me of my Willow. He just turned a year old, but for comparison that green garden post next to him is 3.5 ft tall. He's a giant snuggle marshmallow Even though he's growling at the Cooper hawk on the fence in the picture.

I released him and put Lazzy in the brooder (Lazzy is my silkie Cochin roo, short for Laguez) because he’s being a little snot and Hugh is definitely a better guard. So far he hasn’t even tried to mount a hen so I trust he will be gentle with them! (The hens are Rat my salmon faverolle and Chicklynn my Swedish flower)

They have figured out the order!!

Hugh watches the girls around the yard during the day and sleeps in the barn with the girls who prefer the barn at night. Little Lazzy watches the girls in/around the barn and sleeps in the coop at night. The girls LOVE Hugh and HATE Lazzy but Little Laz is my lap rooster so he’s a keeper 😅 I managed to get Hugh to sleep in my lap last night but he’s harder to hold for sure.

He’s so big! He reminds of my first rooster knight that I had to give away! Since knight wasn’t even a year old I bet he’s even bigger now! In the second to last picture is that a normal sized feeder? because if it is he is really really big! View attachment 3788749
I think it’s normal? Here’s my hand for reference. My hands abt 5 inches long.

He’s so handsome!! I love Brahmas
