All I do is chase him into the coop and close the door. Once I get him in there, it's not hard at all. If he decides to give me a chase, at least it's not all over the yard. I can usually corner him in a few minutes. Once cornered, he submits. Once he submits, he's docile as a lamb. I'm sure over time, he will get the idea I'm not going to hurt him and he won't be so hard to catch. I'll just reach down and grab the top strap of the harness and pick him up.
